Mrs Hana Satryo, wife of the Indonesian Ambassador, hosted a Brunch in the garden of their residence on a lovely sunny day in early July. Fifty members and guests were warmly welcomed by Mrs Satryo who introduced us to a traditional musical instrument with 32 strings which are plucked like a harp. On a more serious note we heard about a relatively new organisation whose aim is to assist young people find work in the hospitality industry through providing coaching in its different fields including catering, etc. After a delicious lunch there was time to browse a sales table of Indonesian items. So ended a splendid afternoon and a wonderful introduction to Indonesia’s culture. TWC is most grateful to Mrs Satryo and her helpers for their generosity.
