A full circle around the sun completed at the end of June and The Women’s Council hosted their 2024 AGM at The Army and Navy Club. The important day was complemented by the lovely setting of the Club and its library, with glorious sun coming through the windows.
The AGM is always a special occasion in the TWC calendar. We were proud this year to be joined by Dr Alur, Sathi Alur, Malini Chib, Atu Tsuknungtula (a CII alumni) and Rachel Tainsh (TWC honorary training advisor). We welcomed also the company of Patrons from Laos, Representatives from Nepal and China as well as Richard Rieser (General Secretary of the Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum & CEO of World of Inclusion).
We extended our thanks to Deepti Yadav who has served as our Honorary Secretary for the past 3 years, as well as to Dr Frances Moore for her service to TWC over several years.
We congratulate Asha Patel for being voted in to be our new Honorary Secretary having served as a year as assistant secretary, Dr Moore as a trustee following serving for three years, Mrs Al-Jumaili as a trustee following serving for two terms of three years and an additional 3 years and finally Dr Akrawi, who has served for two terms of three years and an additional 11 years. We are excited to continue our work over the next year with our team!
The AGM was followed by our summer lunch in the Pall Mall. The room was beautifully decorated with sunflowers. Everyone enjoyed the jovial atmosphere and lucky draw.
