Oral Health Workshop for Children with Special Needs: A Day of Learning and Care

On Tuesday, March 4th, TWC Chairman Rajni Rijal, a professional dentist, took the lead in delivering an invaluable oral health workshop for children with special and additional needs at the ADAPT Bandra Centre. With a focus on improving dental hygiene and awareness, Dr. Rijal guided the children through practical lessons on oral health, making it a day of both learning and care.
The workshop covered a variety of important topics, including the differences between healthy and unhealthy foods and their effects on dental health. Dr. Rijal also led a hands-on session where the children learned the correct brushing techniques using a model of the mouth, ensuring they left with practical skills to maintain their oral hygiene.
As part of the event, Dr. Rijal also provided dental check-ups for 36 children, ranging from ages 4 to 16. These check-ups were vital for identifying potential dental issues early and ensuring the children’s oral health needs were met. The workshop not only educated but also gave the children a chance to receive the necessary care tailored to their individual needs.
The initiative showcased the impact of combining professional expertise with community outreach, demonstrating the importance of inclusive healthcare for all children. Through events like this, Dr. Rijal, TWC and ADAPT continue to promote better health practices and build a brighter, healthier future for children with special needs.
