A Celebration of Dedication and Impact: CII 2025 Valedictory Ceremony in Mumbai

On Wednesday, 16th April, Mumbai played host to a heartfelt and inspiring occasion—the Valedictory Ceremony for the CII 2025 participants. The event was filled with pride, reflection, and celebration as participants, alumni, esteemed guests, and supporters gathered to mark the culmination of an incredible journey.
From the moment the program began, the atmosphere was rich with warmth and purpose. The ceremony was not just a celebration of achievements over the past three months but a reaffirmation of the impact that the CII (Community Initiatives in Inclusion) program continues to have across nations.
The event was graced by a powerful keynote address from Dr. Mithu Alur, the visionary founder and president of ADAPT and course director of CII. Her words resonated deeply, setting a tone of passion, inclusivity, and commitment to continued change.
Following Dr. Alur’s address, the stage welcomed a host of distinguished guests who shared their perspectives and support for the CII program:
- Mrs. Sarita Ghimire, Spouse of the Ambassador of Nepal to the UK, highlighted the incredible impact the program has had on Nepal, with 45 women having been supported through CII initiatives.
- Ms. Munkhjargal Nergui, First Secretary at the Embassy of Mongolia in the UK, expressed her personal interest in the work ADAPT is doing.
- Mr. Suresh Kaphale, Founder and President of SAMA, Nepal, brought heartfelt insights into the grassroots effect of inclusive training.
- Councilor Alex Crawford, Member of Rushmoor Council, UK, reflected on the international significance of the program and its ripple effect on communities.
One of the most moving segments was hearing from CII alumni, who shared their personal stories and how the program has transformed their lives and communities. We were honoured to be joined by:
- Divyani Giri (CII 2023)
- Ms. Tseyang (CII 2024)
- Duncan Chengo (CII 2024)
Their testimonies brought to life the essence of CII—empowerment, transformation, and global community.
From The Women’s Council (TWC), we were privileged to hear from:
- President Lady Butterworth
- Chairman Dr. Rajni Rijal
- Dr. Frances Moore
Their encouraging words emphasised not only the dedication shown by the CII 2025 participants during the program but also the ongoing mission they now carry forward into their home countries. A heartfelt video message from TWC’s Honorary Advisor further added to the occasion’s depth and significance.
The presentation of certificates was a touching and proud moment, led by Dr. Alur, Malini Chib, Swami Mounananda, and Catherine Ameno. Each certificate represented not just the completion of a program, but the beginning of new paths forged with knowledge, purpose, and resilience.
The ceremony concluded with a vibrant cultural performance by the CII 2025 participants—a colorful and joyous celebration of identity, unity, and shared experience.
Congratulations to everyone that was involved with today’s program and to the CII 2025 participants for the completion of their course which we hope will have inspired them!
