On a rather dreary, wet day in late November, a small group of Patrons and Committee Members were fortunate enough to have a private tour of the Houses of Parliament, which were already decked out for Christmas. This was kindly sponsored by Scott Mann, MP who accompanied us and our Guides on a very illuminating and comprehensive tour. The building itself is fascinating and the paintings and statues we saw reflect various events and famous people who have shaped the history of the UK over several centuries, from the trial of Charles I to our more recent past.
