Supporting Parents: Key Messages from UNICEF’s Parenting Framework

TWC Honorary Training Advisor Rachel Tainsh led a meaningful training session with participants of the CII program whilst in Mumbai. During this session, Rachel explored the UNICEF Parenting Support Framework, focusing on key messages that are essential for supporting parents in their crucial role.
One of the key topics of discussion was how parents, particularly those of children with disabilities, can be encouraged to care for themselves while also caring for their children. It’s clear that parent well-being plays an essential role in a child’s development, and we wanted to ensure this was reflected in our messaging.
The participants worked collaboratively to create posters that communicated these core ideas, with the ultimate goal of empowering parents with simple but powerful messages. The session was a great opportunity to reflect on how we can better support parents and create environments that nurture both children and caregivers. The posters created during the session are a visual reminder of these powerful messages, and they aim to provide parents with guidance, encouragement, and resources.
Through collaboration and shared insights, TWC and ADAPT hope to continue fostering a supportive community for all parents, ensuring that they have the tools they need to thrive and nurture their children’s growth.
