The Women’s Council 2024 Christmas Lunch at the RAG, London
On Tuesday, 10th December 2024, The Women’s Council hosted its annual Christmas Lunch at the prestigious Army & Navy Club (RAG) in London. The event brought together almost 80 members and guests, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that celebrated the spirit of the season and the achievements of the past year.
The lunch was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including:
- Baroness Browning (Patron, House of Lords)
- Madam Sari Percaya (Patron, Indonesia)
- Madam Hua Mei (Patron, China)
- Madam Maya Bhusal (Patron, Nepal)
- Xinyan Zhuang (China)
- Rosina Dhala (Hon Vice President)
- Dr. Richard Rieser (Gen. Sec. Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum & CEO, World of Inclusion)
- Ameeta Sabharwal (FIWAL President)
- Dr. Vasi Daniel (Patron, CCL)
- Marion Molteno (Prize-winning novelist)
Other clubs represented included the American Women’s Association, CCL, and FIWAL, further enriching the event with a diverse and dynamic audience.
The beautifully decorated dining hall at the RAG provided a stunning festive ambiance, enhanced by exquisite Christmas decorations. Guests were serenaded by the superb solo classical guitarist Hope Cramsie, whose calming music and beautiful renditions of Christmas carols had everyone quietly humming along.
The delicious Christmas Lunch was another highlight, with a carefully curated menu that delighted all attendees. Inspiring speeches were delivered by Lady Butterworth and Baroness Browning, leaving the audience motivated and uplifted.
The Christmas Lunch included an excellent raffle, featuring a range of fabulous prizes. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the raffle raised an impressive £750.
The Women’s Council extends heartfelt appreciation to the Army & Navy Club team for their warm hospitality, ensuring the event ran smoothly. Sincere thanks are also extended to all guests, members, and supporters who made the occasion memorable.
